Professor Baret Yoshida is always looking to be on the cutting edge of Jiu-Jitsu techniques. He is certainly known for his crucifixes but lately has added the “Assassins Choke” to his Jiu-Jitsu repertoire that has the Jiu-Jitsu community intrigued as some love it and others… not so much. This past weekend while at the IBJJF International Masters Worlds, he pulled off the Assassins Choke with his belt to win the match! 

In the video below, he explains some of the history behind this technique, first seeing a belt choke from BJ Penn in the 90s. He also showcases how he off-sets the belt and hides the extra length so it can be ready for use at any time.
