The 2022 ADCC West Coast Trials did not disappoint and were the biggest Trials event ever in ADCC’s history. The world-renowned grappling event produced countless memorable moments and epic wins. Among those moments was the thrilling battle at 66 kg between The B-Team’s Damien Anderson and Brazilian Fight Factory’s Andrew Tackett. The battle raged on minute after minute and was arguably one of the most entertaining of the entire ADCC trials; an early contender for match of the year as well.

We witness in the above showdown an ADCC-rules match at its finest. Both grapplers fight hard for each and every position, point, and grip with near-constant exchanges of positional advantages and near-scores.

After evaluating the match, the most memorable moment came during the overtime period, when Anderson and Tackett continued a wrestling exchange off the mat. They then ran into the scoring table and even disconnected FloGrappling’s LIVE feed of the epic match in the process. They certainly left it all on the mats and then some!

After nine minutes elapsed of incredibly high-paced action, Anderson was ultimately awarded the victory by decision.

Andrew Tackett, the younger brother to 77 kg. Trials champion William Tackett is just 18-years old but already known as one of jiu-jitsu’s most exciting grapplers and best prospects for the future of the sport. He is expected to make a showing on FloGrappling’s upcoming reality show “Who’s Next.”

Anderson calls The B-Team his home and is currently considered one of their top grapplers, and as you can see above, for a good reason. After defeating Tackett by decision, Anderson went on to lose in the semifinals to Kieth Krikorian, who was crowned eventually champion.
